The Fixed-Mobile Convergence Alliance (FMCA) is a global, non-profit organisation focused on providing today's and tomorrow's Convergence customers with high-quality, seamless and easy to use products and services.
The FMCA works with key players from fixed and mobile providers to device, silicon and media businesses to create the opportunity for customers to have access to people, content and information in the way they want, from wherever they want.
Representing a global base of over 700 million customers who stand to benefit from the development of Convergence products and services, its objective is to ensure, through collaboration with industry, that devices, access points, applications and underlying networks interoperate to deliver the best user experience possible.

- In order to accomplish its Convergence goals, the Alliance is actively collaborating with Standards Development, Specification & Certification Organisations (SDO/Fora) and wider vendor community in key technical areas which require telecom operator input.
The FMCA has liaison status with leading Standards Development Organisations such as IEEE 802.11u, IEEE 802.21 and 3GPP. The FMCA also has a strategic relationship with the Wireless Broadband Alliance, the Home Gateway Initiative and the Wi-Fi Alliance the leading worldwide certification body for WLAN technology actively focused on the certification of Convergence products.
The FMCA has also worked closely, over the last 2 years, with Detecon Consulting, particularly in helping to research and produce "The Road to Full Convergence" thought leadership paper and more recently an industry collaboration project for the FMCA members.
