FMCA Priority Programmes

Priority Programmes are frameworks designed to facilitate the implementation, management and delivery of all FMCA Convergence activities. These programmes are based on market drivers and customers needs identified by the FMCA Operators and underpin the organisation's strategy:

  • Make Convergence an unparalleled success by creating the capability and  environment for success
  • Develop key relationships to ensure rapid industry acceptance and adoption of Convergence Product and Services
  • Maintain a steady flow of FMCA requirements into global industry
  • Convergence Business Case and key rationale for Convergence launches

Priority Programmes

The typical structure and length of a Priority Programme depends upon its agreed objectives, scope of requirements, technical and commercial complexity, resource levels and project management aspects.

Priority Programmes benefit from input from FMCA operators and Vendors, with Technical and Commercial Work Items being managed, through to delivery, by the various Priority Programme Leads.

A key output of the FMCA Priority Programmes is the FMCA Product Requirements Definition, PRD. These are technical papers specifying the FMCA product and service requirements in areas such as Converged devices, access points, network architecture, roaming and authentication as well as applications. FMCA Product Requirements Definition, PRD 3.0, is scheduled for release in October 2007.
