Maxis Communications Berhad (“the Company” or “Maxis”) and its subsidiaries (“the Group”) have entered a new phase of growth after 10 years of commercial operations – the Group is transforming itself from being a leading communications services provider in Malaysia to be a regional communications leader of choice.
Maxis provides a wide range of telecommunications services to both consumers and businesses. Recognised for its quality and innovative communications solutions, Maxis has won several domestic and international awards for its products and services.
Mobile services, the principal driver of the Group’s business, are marketed under the maxis brand for postpaid mobile services and Hotlink for prepaid mobile services. Maxis launched its next generation 3G technology and services in 2005. With this, Maxis can now offer basic and data services as well as advanced data and infotainment services via diverse technologies to more than eight million customers.
Maxis offers voice, data and Internet fixed-line services, wireless LAN, VSAT satellite and Internet Protocol (IP) solutions to the enterprise market , serving large corporations, small-medium enterprises and government. The company’s international gateway services offer international connections to Maxis mobile and fixed-line customers.
The Group also expanded overseas, with the acquisition of PT Natrindo Telepon Seluler in Indonesia and Aircel Limited of India in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Through these subsidiaries, the Group has gained a foothold in two of the fasted growing mobile markets in Asia.
